Afternoon Ferry trip to Seattle’s Great Wheel

We had a great time taking an afternoon and cruising over to Seattle via the Bainbridge Ferry and walking down to Seattle’s Great Wheel to take it for a spin or should I say it took us for a spin.

The Ferris Wheel has glass enclosed gondolas that are climate controlled.  The view is spectacular and if the wheel stops while you are at the top, there is plenty of time to enjoy the Seattle Skyline and the views of the Puget Sound.

Sit back relax and enjoy the video of our trip.  Then get out there and ride the Great Wheel of Seattle!

Summer Time boating fun on Miller Bay and at Indianola

Summer just would not be summer without some time spent boating on the salty waters of the puget sound. The kids really enjoy wave jumping, geting splashed, wet and wild while keeping cool.

Truth be told I have just as much fun as the kids!

After wave Jumping, we like to go check our crab pot and see if we caught any Dungeness crab. This time out we had around seven crab in the pot, and although I was being very careful not to get pinched, when I reached in I did not see the crab right under the one I was reaching for and it pinched me good.  It drew first blood.

Clam Jumping at Indianola Beach

One of the things I loved to do when I was a kid, was clam jump.  Clam jumping is where you jump on the sand around clams to try and make them squirt.  If you have not done it, get off the computer and get outside and try it.  It is a lot of fun.  One time my son jumped and got squirted in the mouth.  He still talks about that today.

Here is a video clip from our last Clam Jumping Event.

As you can see it is fun.  If you are interested in Joining the International Clam Jumping Federation, leave a comment below.

Calvary Apple – an apple with the 3 crosses from the crucifixion on it

By now we are all familiar with the Jesus toast.  The toast that popped up with Jesus’s likeness burnt into it.  Turns out there are a ton of Jesus and sightings including a Cheetos and Citrus Jesus.

Well the other day I grabbed and apple to eat, cause that is what I do, I eat apples and whamo – right there in the apple skin are the 3 crosses from Calvary.

Snowpocalypse – Winter Storm 2012

Sledding in Full Color! The white splendor was upon us last week – good for some, not so good for others. But all-in-all if you have kiddos, (or cross country skis) it was fun! It was noted that a hot sledding location for winter frolicking is right nearby – Snow Horse! (local golf course in other seasons). It is a bowl so lots of fun and roller-coaster-like sledding. Not a far walk from Indianola on the trail that runs along the golf course and not quite as speedy as Killer Hill.

Speaking of Killer Hill – three locals had the eternally cool (and fast!) Radio Flyer metal railed sleds. The REAL DEAL! They flew down the hill – the kids were so impressed!

School was out, for many, so was work. So off we went to play in the frozen world. Power stayed on – hallelujah! Which made playing in the snow all the more fun with a chance to go inside, warm up and have some cocoa. We don’t get it too bad nor often – hope you all had a chance to play!
